Dr. Iqbal's research addresses challenges related to mobile multi-sensor systems (MSS), and the major objective of his research is to develop the technology and process platforms that enable the development and deployment of novel MSS for reliable, continuous, and robust navigation systems. Dr. Iqbal worked in the areas of multi-sensor integration, navigation systems, robotics, control, and measurement while drilling (MWD) for industry and academia. He has over 400 citations, and his h-index is 12 (Google Profile). He has received several prestigious awards, scholarships and grants, which include the Industrial Research and Development Fellowship (IRDF) from NSERC, and the R&D Associates Fellowship from Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Professional Engineer.
