Dr. Gurbuz received his B.S. degree from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2003, in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005 and 2008, both in Electrical and Computer Engineering. From 2003 to 2008, he researched computational radar imaging and compressive sensing as a graduate research assistant, and from 2008 to 2009 as postdoctoral fellow, all with Georgia Tech. He has held faculty positions at TOBB University of Economics and Technology and The University of Alabama. His current research interests include machine learning, compressive sensing, computational imaging, radar and array signal processing, digital signal and image processing, and remote sensing. Dr. Gurbuz is co-director of the Information Processing and Sensing (IMPRESS) Lab at MSU. He is author of more than 20 journal and 40 conference publications, recipient of The Best Paper Award for Signal Processing Journal in 2013, and Turkish Academy of Sciences Best Young Scholar Award in Electrical Engineering in 2014. He has served as an associate editor for Digital Signal Processing, EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing and Physical Communications.
